Kyocera TASKalfa 2554ci, New and Secondhand in Sydney

Yes, you can still buy this one new. The TASKalfa 2554ci is Kyocera's 25 pages per minute A3 colour copier, from Kyocera's 2021 range and still on Kyocera Australia's current list, and it is also the TASKalfa we see secondhand most often. Bought new or secondhand, it is serviced by us.

  • 25 pages per minute on A4
  • A3 colour: print, copy, scan
  • New or secondhand
  • On agreement: replaced if it fails

What is the TASKalfa 2554ci?

Kyocera's 2554ci range arrived in 2021 and tops out at the 7054ci; this is its 25 pages per minute model. Colour copying, printing and scanning to A3, run from a 10.1 inch touch screen. Because it is still on Kyocera Australia's current list, we can offer it new, not only secondhand.

Before it came the TASKalfa 2553ci: same speed, previous range. Kyocera designs these copiers around long life parts, which is how they keep running costs down year after year. Photograph: Kyocera.

Who is it for?

Its sweet spot is a small team needing A3 colour at a modest pace. Once ten or more people print, the TASKalfa 3554ci (35 pages per minute) is the next step, and the TASKalfa 4054ci (40) after that.

New or secondhand, and how do you pay?

New, the maker's warranty comes with it. Secondhand, it comes in three grades (renewed, refurbished or used), checked before it is offered and with the page count in writing. Either way, the price covers delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff.

Rent, lease or pay outright, subject to approval; terms reach 60 months for younger machines. With a service agreement in place, our replacement warranty lasts as long as the agreement: if the machine fails, we replace it. Rental on selected machines is priced from $15 a week plus GST.

Four checks before buying secondhand

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

TASKalfa 2554ci: straight answers

Can I still get a new TASKalfa 2554ci?

Yes. It sits on Kyocera Australia's current list beside the newer TASKalfa MZ range, so it can come new from us, and plenty come through secondhand too.

TASKalfa 2553ci or 2554ci: what actually changed?

The generation, not the speed. Both do 25 pages per minute in A3 colour; the 2554ci belongs to the 2021 range and, as the later machine, usually costs a little more. On secondhand units, the page count and service record matter as much as which generation it is. See the older TASKalfa 2553ci for comparison.

Is the TASKalfa 2554ci a good buy?

Yes, for a small team. A3 colour in a compact body, with Kyocera's long life parts holding the cost per page down.

Can the TASKalfa 2554ci go on a rental?

Yes, subject to approval, whether new or refurbished. A new or younger machine can go to 60 months; older ones get shorter terms. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST.
