Old machine

Sydney copier trade in: put the old machine towards the new one

Is the old copier worth anything? Often, yes, even when it no longer runs. When you upgrade, the trade in price comes off what you pay for the new machine, and we take the old one away on the day the new one goes in.

  • Its value off the new one
  • All major makes
  • Old one taken away
  • Buy, rent or lease the next one
The process

How does a copier trade in work?

  1. Tell us what it is

Brand, model and an idea of the page count. A phone photo of the rating plate and the page count screen saves a lot of back and forth.

  2. See the figure

The trade in price comes in writing, set against the new machine's figures, so the real difference is plain.

  3. Choose what replaces it

New, renewed, refurbished or used, paid for whichever way suits.

  4. Swap day

One visit, on a day and time you pick: new machine in, old machine out.

How much will you get for an old copier?

Model, age, page count, condition and whether it still works. A copier only a few years old usually brings a worthwhile amount off the new machine.

An old one with a huge count brings less, but often still something, because its parts keep other machines going. Mention it when you ask about the new one.

A trade in price off the new machine, and the old one gone in the same changeover.

Why trade in rather than sell it yourself?

  • Its value comes straight off the new machine, which shrinks the cost of upgrading.
  • Nothing to advertise, store or dispose of.
  • One visit: new in, old out.
  • Buying, renting or leasing the new one: the trade in applies to all three.

Level 30 in the CBD, a strata office in Norwest or a warehouse in Arndell Park: we plan the move around the building's lift, dock and access rules.

Is your copier still on a lease or rental?

If the finance company still owns it, it cannot be traded until the agreement finishes or is settled. Send us a copy and you will have the answer, and the options, before you commit to anything.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Copier trade in: your questions

Our copier does not work any more. Is it worth anything?

Often, yes, for its parts. Give us the make and model and we reply with a figure.

What brands do you take as a trade in?

Copiers and multifunction printers from every major maker, A3 or A4: Canon, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Sharp, Fujifilm and Fuji Xerox, Kyocera, Toshiba, HP, Lexmark and OKI. Something else? Ask.

How is the trade in paid?

As a reduction on the new machine. Paying cash, renting or leasing, it comes off.

Can I trade in without buying from you?

No, it is part of an upgrade with us. Its value is taken off a machine supplied by Sydney Copiers.

Can I trade in a copier that is still being paid off?

Possibly not yet: while there are payments left, the finance company may still own it. Paying it out, or waiting for the end of the term, changes that. Send the agreement and we check.
