Managed print services in Sydney: one bill, a rate per page

Pay for printing by the page. On managed print services (MPS), one monthly bill covers the copiers and printers, the service visits and the toner, and nobody in the office has to chase a cartridge or book a repair.

  • One bill each month
  • A rate per page
  • Toner, parts, repairs inside it
  • Copiers and printers, one fleet

MPS, managed print, cost per page: is it all the same thing?

Yes. Cost per page, MPS, facilities management, print management, cost per copy, click charge and managed print services are all names for one arrangement: every page is charged at an agreed rate, and toner, parts and repairs are paid for out of it.

With Sydney Copiers, the machines themselves can be rented inside the same managed print agreement, so one bill covers everything.

Cost per page, every machine, one invoice: managed print in a sentence.

How do you know what you are paying for?

Each copier keeps a running count of its mono and colour pages. Once a month that count is read, by the machine itself wherever it can report, and you are billed for the pages at the rates in your agreement, so the bill matches the meters.

Toner is included in the page rate; each toner order has a delivery charge. When a machine needs a technician, the visit is booked, and the parts and the labour are part of the rate.

Does managed print make sense for your office?

  • Yes, if you run several machines and want one supplier and one bill, on one floor in Barangaroo or across sites from Macquarie Park to Penrith.
  • Yes, if you want printing costs you can forecast.
  • Yes, if someone in the office spends time ordering toner and booking repairs one by one.

One machine and light printing? A copier rental with a service agreement does the job with less paperwork.

Questions

Managed print: what Sydney offices ask

MPS: what is it?

Short for managed print services. People also call it a managed print agreement, cost per page or facilities management.

Is facilities management different from managed print?

Only in size. Facilities management usually means one supplier looking after the copiers and printers at every site of a business, on a cost per page.

Do we have to send in meter readings?

Where a machine can report its own readings, it does; you are only asked about the ones that cannot.

Will there be a minimum charge each month?

Many managed print agreements have one. Any minimum in ours is written into the agreement and walked through with you before you sign.
