The short version

Ricoh slots the IM C2500 into its IM C2000 to C6000 range, a 2019 release as the 25 pages per minute option. Also in the series (pages per minute in brackets): IM C3000 (30), IM C3500 (35), IM C4500 (45) and IM C6000 (60). From the maker's sheet, it needs the optional single pass document feeder to reach 120 scanned images a minute, loads 1,200 sheets as standard and 2,300 fully optioned and feeds card up to 300 gsm. Its successor in the Ricoh range is the IM C2510.

Secondhand, A3 colour, 25 pages per minute, in three grades.

How many people can share it?

It is the right size for up to around five people. More people than that? The IM C3000 is the same series at 30 pages per minute.

What does secondhand get you?

Three grades. Renewed is the top one: more parts replaced, close to new, and priced above refurbished. Refurbished means cleaned, serviced, worn parts replaced and tested, and it is the grade most people choose. Used is checked and working, for the lowest outlay. Whichever IM C2500 you pick, the page count is in writing before you commit, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are in the price.

Whatever we sell, we service, and this IM C2500 is no exception. On a service agreement, one that fails is swapped for a working machine during the term. Rental on selected machines is priced from $15 a week plus GST, once finance is approved.

Four checks before buying secondhand

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Ricoh IM C2500: straight answers

Is a new IM C2500 still available?

Not new. The IM C2510 took over in Ricoh's range; a secondhand IM C2500 from us is checked, graded and looked after by us.

How much wear is on a secondhand IM C2500?

No two are the same. The count for the unit you are offered comes in writing, and it is the best single guide to wear.

Which should I get, the IM C2500 or the IM C3000?

Count the people printing. The IM C2500 does 25 pages per minute and the IM C3000 30, in the same series.

Is there a rental option for the IM C2500?

Yes, once finance is approved. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST. When the term is up, you move to a newer machine or hand this one back; send us the model for the written figures.
