What is the IM C2000?

The starting point of Ricoh's IM C range. Ricoh introduced the IM C machines in 2019 as replacements for its MP colour range, and they were its first copiers to wear the IM name. On this one you get colour copying, printing and scanning up to A3, all driven from Ricoh's Smart Operation Panel.

Speed is the only gap between it and the IM C2500: same body, 25 pages per minute. Further up the range, in order: IM C3000, IM C3500, IM C4500, IM C6000.

Small team, light printing? Twenty a minute does the job.

Who is it for?

Around ten people at most, printing colour in modest amounts, with an A3 job every so often. Busier than that? Compare the IM C2500 (25 pages per minute) or move up to the 35 pages per minute IM C3500.

Which grade, and how do you pay?

The IM C2000 is available refurbished or used. Every machine is checked before we offer it, and its page count goes to you in writing. Rent or lease it for up to 60 months (its age decides the longest term), or pay outright. Delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are part of the price.

With a service agreement in place, our replacement warranty lasts as long as the agreement: if the machine fails, we replace it. When the term ends, you upgrade or hand it back. On selected machines, rental is priced from $15 a week plus GST; finance needs approval.

Four checks before buying secondhand

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Ricoh IM C2000: straight answers

Is the Ricoh IM C2000 a good buy for a small office?

Yes, as long as your colour volume is modest. It is the first model of the range Ricoh launched in 2019 to replace its MP colour copiers. For a secondhand one, what matters is how many pages it has done and how it has been serviced; both are on the table before you decide.

IM C2000 or IM C2500: which should I get?

Get the IM C2500 if two or three extra people will be printing: it is this machine with five more pages per minute (25 against 20). If not, the IM C2000 handles the load and costs less up front. See the IM C2500.

Is there a newer version of the IM C2000?

Yes. Ricoh followed it in 2023 with the IM C2010.

Can a refurbished IM C2000 go on a rental?

Yes. Approval permitting, terms reach 60 months on younger machines and are shorter on older ones. The weekly rental on selected machines begins from $15 a week plus GST.
