Kyocera TASKalfa 6053ci, Secondhand in Sydney

Where the TASKalfa 6053ci fits in the Kyocera range

The TASKalfa 6053ci is the 60 pages per minute model in Kyocera's TASKalfa 2553ci series. The other speeds in the series are the TASKalfa 2553ci (25), TASKalfa 3253ci (32), TASKalfa 4053ci (40) and TASKalfa 5053ci (50), in pages per minute. From the maker's sheet, it needs the optional single pass document feeder to reach 120 scanned images a minute, loads 1,150 sheets as standard and 7,150 fully optioned and feeds card up to 300 gsm. The model that took over is the TASKalfa 6054ci.

Who is it for?

Our rule of thumb: it suits thirty or more people, or a dedicated print room. Printing less? The TASKalfa 5053ci at 50 pages per minute may be all you need.

Which grade, and how do you pay?

Three grades. Renewed is the top one: more parts replaced, close to new, and priced above refurbished. Refurbished means cleaned, serviced, worn parts replaced and tested, and it is the grade most people choose. Used is checked and working, for the lowest outlay. Whichever TASKalfa 6053ci you pick, the page count is in writing before you commit, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are in the price.

Whatever we sell, we service, and this TASKalfa 6053ci is no exception. On a service agreement, one that fails is swapped for a working machine during the term. Rental on selected machines is priced from $15 a week plus GST, once finance is approved.

What to ask about a secondhand one

• The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
• What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
• Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
• Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.
