Ricoh MP 4055, Secondhand in Sydney

Short answer: the Ricoh MP 4055 is an A3 black and white photocopier that turns out 40 pages per minute. It copies, prints and scans in black and white, on paper as big as A3. It is sold secondhand here in three grades, and the page count of the actual machine is put in writing before anything is signed.

  • 40 pages per minute on A4
  • A3 black and white: print, copy, scan
  • Three secondhand grades
  • On agreement: replaced if it fails

Where the MP 4055 fits in the Ricoh range

Ricoh slots the MP 4055 into its MP 4055 to 6055 range as the 40 pages per minute option. Also in the series (pages per minute in brackets): MP 5055 (50) and MP 6055 (60). Useful numbers: it scans double sided originals in one go, up to 110 images a minute, loads 1,200 sheets as standard and 4,700 fully optioned and feeds card up to 300 gsm. Ricoh has replaced it with the IM 4000.

Will it keep up with your office?

The straight answer on size: fifteen to thirty people on a busy floor. More people than that? The MP 5055 is the same series at 50 pages per minute.

What does secondhand get you?

The grade sets the outlay and the page count tells you the wear, and you get both in writing. A rental or lease can run up to 60 months, limited by the machine's age, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are included.

Bought outright without a service agreement, the warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you what it is in writing before the sale. Add a service agreement and a failed machine is replaced at any point in the term. The rental figure on selected machines starts from $15 a week plus GST, provided finance is approved.

What to ask about a secondhand one

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Ricoh MP 4055: straight answers

Is a new MP 4055 still available?

No, Ricoh has moved on to the IM 4000. Secondhand is the route now, and whichever one you take, we service it.

How much wear is on a secondhand MP 4055?

Each machine differs. You see its actual page count, in writing, before anything is agreed; that figure says more about wear than the year does.

Which should I get, the MP 4055 or the MP 5055?

Same series, so the choice is speed: 40 pages per minute against 50. Tell us your headcount and monthly pages and we give you a straight answer.

Can I rent the MP 4055 rather than buy it?

Yes. Rental is not hire. You sign a business agreement, pay one regular amount, and the machine is serviced while you have it. Selected machines start from $15 a week plus GST, with approval.
