The short version

The TASKalfa 7004i is the 70 pages per minute model in Kyocera's TASKalfa 7004i series, a 2021 release. Sister models, slowest first, with pages per minute: TASKalfa 5004i (50) and TASKalfa 6004i (60). Useful numbers: it needs the optional single pass document feeder to reach 274 scanned images a minute, loads 1,150 sheets as standard and 7,150 fully optioned and feeds card up to 300 gsm. Kyocera has replaced it with the TASKalfa MZ7001i.

Secondhand, A3 black and white, 70 pages per minute, in three grades.

Who is it for?

Our rule of thumb: it suits thirty or more people, or a dedicated print room. Printing less? The TASKalfa 6004i at 60 pages per minute may be all you need.

Which grade, and how do you pay?

Three grades. Renewed is the top one: more parts replaced, close to new, and priced above refurbished. Refurbished means cleaned, serviced, worn parts replaced and tested, and it is the grade most people choose. Used is checked and working, for the lowest outlay. Whichever TASKalfa 7004i you pick, the page count is in writing before you commit, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are in the price.

Bought outright without a service agreement, the warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you what it is in writing before the sale. Add a service agreement and a failed machine is replaced at any point in the term. The rental figure on selected machines starts from $15 a week plus GST, provided finance is approved.

Four checks before buying secondhand

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

What people ask about the Kyocera TASKalfa 7004i

Is a new TASKalfa 7004i still available?

No. Kyocera replaced it with the TASKalfa MZ7001i, so secondhand is the way to get one, and we service every one we sell.

How much wear is on a secondhand TASKalfa 7004i?

No two are the same. The count for the unit you are offered comes in writing, and it is the best single guide to wear.

Which should I get, the TASKalfa 7004i or the TASKalfa 6004i?

Count the people printing. The TASKalfa 7004i does 70 pages per minute and the TASKalfa 6004i 60, in the same series.

Can I rent the TASKalfa 7004i rather than buy it?

Yes. Rental is not hire. You sign a business agreement, pay one regular amount, and the machine is serviced while you have it. Selected machines start from $15 a week plus GST, with approval.
