The short version

The TASKalfa 6004i is the 60 pages per minute model in Kyocera's TASKalfa 7004i series, from 2021. Sister models, slowest first, with pages per minute: TASKalfa 5004i (50) and TASKalfa 7004i (70). From the maker's sheet, it needs the optional single pass document feeder to reach 274 scanned images a minute, loads 1,150 sheets as standard and 7,150 fully optioned and feeds card up to 300 gsm. Kyocera has replaced it with the TASKalfa MZ6001i.

Will it keep up with your office?

Our rule of thumb: it suits thirty or more people, or a dedicated print room. If that sounds tight, the TASKalfa 7004i runs at 70 pages per minute in the same series. Quieter office? Look at the TASKalfa 5004i, 50 pages per minute.

What does secondhand get you?

The grade sets the outlay and the page count tells you the wear, and you get both in writing. A rental or lease can run up to 60 months, limited by the machine's age, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are included.

Bought outright without a service agreement, the warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you what it is in writing before the sale. Add a service agreement and a failed machine is replaced at any point in the term. The rental figure on selected machines starts from $15 a week plus GST, provided finance is approved.

Four checks before buying secondhand

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Kyocera TASKalfa 6004i questions, answered

Is a new TASKalfa 6004i still available?

No. Kyocera replaced it with the TASKalfa MZ6001i, so secondhand is the way to get one, and we service every one we sell.

What is the page count on a used TASKalfa 6004i?

No two are the same. The count for the unit you are offered comes in writing, and it is the best single guide to wear.

Which should I get, the TASKalfa 6004i or the TASKalfa 7004i?

Same series, so the choice is speed: 60 pages per minute against 70. Tell us your headcount and monthly pages and we give you a straight answer.

Can I rent the TASKalfa 6004i rather than buy it?

Yes, once finance is approved. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST. When the term is up, you move to a newer machine or hand this one back; send us the model for the written figures.
