Ricoh MP 2555, Secondhand in Sydney

25 pages per minute: that is the headline figure for the Ricoh MP 2555, an A3 black and white photocopier. It copies, prints and scans in black and white, on paper as big as A3. It is sold secondhand here in three grades, and the page count of the actual machine is put in writing before anything is signed.

  • 25 pages per minute on A4
  • A3 black and white: print, copy, scan
  • Three secondhand grades
  • On agreement: replaced if it fails

How to pay

How many people can share it?

The straight answer on size: up to around five people. Busier than that, step up to the MP 3055, 30 pages per minute.

Which grade, and how do you pay?

Three grades. Renewed is the top one: more parts replaced, close to new, and priced above refurbished. Refurbished means cleaned, serviced, worn parts replaced and tested, and it is the grade most people choose. Used is checked and working, for the lowest outlay. Whichever MP 2555 you pick, the page count is in writing before you commit, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are in the price.

Bought outright without a service agreement, the warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you what it is in writing before the sale. Add a service agreement and a failed machine is replaced at any point in the term. The rental figure on selected machines starts from $15 a week plus GST, provided finance is approved.

What to ask about a secondhand one

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

Ricoh MP 2555: straight answers

Is a new MP 2555 still available?

No, Ricoh has moved on to the IM 2500. Secondhand is the route now, and whichever one you take, we service it.

What sort of page count does a secondhand MP 2555 carry?

Each machine differs. You see its actual page count, in writing, before anything is agreed; that figure says more about wear than the year does.

Which should I get, the MP 2555 or the MP 3055?

Same series, so the choice is speed: 25 pages per minute against 30. Tell us your headcount and monthly pages and we give you a straight answer.

Is there a rental option for the MP 2555?

Yes, once finance is approved. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST. When the term is up, you move to a newer machine or hand this one back; send us the model for the written figures.
