HP LaserJet Managed MFP E82550, Secondhand in Sydney

HP rates the LaserJet Managed MFP E82550 at 50 pages per minute, and it is an A3 black and white photocopier. No colour, so there is one rate to watch: mono copying, printing and scanning up to A3. It is sold secondhand here in three grades, and the page count of the actual machine is put in writing before anything is signed.

  • 50 pages per minute on A4
  • A3 black and white: print, copy, scan
  • Three secondhand grades
  • On agreement: replaced if it fails

The short version

Will it keep up with your office?

Sized for thirty or more people, or a dedicated print room, going by its speed. HP recommends staying within 100,000 pages a month. More people than that? The LaserJet Managed MFP E82560 is the same series at 60 pages per minute. Quieter office? Look at the LaserJet Managed MFP E82540, 40 pages per minute.

Secondhand: grades and payment

Three grades. Renewed is the top one: more parts replaced, close to new, and priced above refurbished. Refurbished means cleaned, serviced, worn parts replaced and tested, and it is the grade most people choose. Used is checked and working, for the lowest outlay. Whichever LaserJet Managed MFP E82550 you pick, the page count is in writing before you commit, and delivery, network connection, scanning set up and a hands on run through for staff are in the price.

Under a service agreement, if the machine fails we replace it, for as long as the agreement runs. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST; finance needs approval first.

What to ask about a secondhand one

  • The meter reading. Pages printed so far, in writing. That number beats the build year as a guide to wear.
  • What comes with it. Extra trays, a finisher, a big paper deck: each one alters the work it can take and the figure on the quote.
  • Who looks after it. We do not sell a machine we cannot service, because a copier nobody can fix is no bargain.
  • Running cost. Get the mono and colour rates per page in writing, plus what each rate covers.

Replacement warranty

What if it fails? We replace it. Any year of the agreement.

If a machine on our service agreement fails, we replace it. That holds for new and secondhand machines alike, and for every way of paying: rental, lease, finance or an outright purchase. The cover lasts as long as the agreement does, every year of it.

A new copier normally carries the maker's warranty for 12 months, covering hardware but not consumables. Once that year is up, the service agreement carries the cover. The full terms of the replacement warranty are written into your agreement.

Questions

HP LaserJet Managed MFP E82550: straight answers

How much wear is on a secondhand LaserJet Managed MFP E82550?

Each machine differs. You see its actual page count, in writing, before anything is agreed; that figure says more about wear than the year does.

What is the LaserJet Managed MFP E82550's monthly page limit?

HP says up to 100,000 pages a month; in a peak month it is rated for 300,000.

Which should I get, the LaserJet Managed MFP E82550 or the LaserJet Managed MFP E82560?

Same series, so the choice is speed: 50 pages per minute against 60. Tell us your headcount and monthly pages and we give you a straight answer.

Can the LaserJet Managed MFP E82550 go on a rental agreement?

Yes. Rental is not hire. You sign a business agreement, pay one regular amount, and the machine is serviced while you have it. Selected machines start from $15 a week plus GST, with approval.
